General Information

The City of Eutaw Water Department is a community water system, regulated by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. We serve approximately 1,450 customers in Eutaw and the town of Boligee. Our water system has a capacity to produce over 1.5 million gallons of water per day using deep groundwater wells from the Eutaw and Gordo aquifers. We have an above ground storage capacity of around a half million gallons with 4 above ground storage tanks.

Policy and Procedure

General customer information is provided below based on the most updated policies and procedures.

All new customers are required to provide a valid government issued photo identification, proof of residence, and complete a customer service agreement.

All new customers are required to pay a non-refundable $100 account establishment fee ($150 for non-residential accounts).

Water is billed after usage, so your water bill is for the previous month’s usage.

We make every reasonable effort to ensure bills are mailed out to customers before the end of each month, so they can be received around the first of the month. We are not responsible for postal delays or returned mail. Any customer who does not receive a bill is responsible for calling the office to check their account balance.

A $5 late fee will apply after the close of business on the 15th of the month in which the bill is due. If the office is not open for payments on the 15th, the next business day will be the due date, and late fees will be applied after the close of business on that date.

The water department will make reasonable efforts to contact customers after their bills are late and to provide door tags or payment reminders. A payment reminder fee of up to $5 will be applied to any account that receives a phone call or door tag.

Any account that has a past due balance, after the 25th of the month, or the following business day if the office is closed is considered delinquent. If your account is delinquent it is subject to disconnection. Any account that is not paid prior to the disconnection date will be charged a non-payment fee ($30 inside city limits, up to $50 outside city limits) and will be subject to disconnection with full payment required to restore service.
