Mayor Johnson announces that the IRS Lien against the City of Eutaw has been cleared.

“This is a big step in moving Eutaw forward”. The Mayor thanked her entire staff and Rob Pearson with the accounting firm Mason Gardner for their hard work in resolving this issue. The IRS Lien was discovered after the November 2020 election during a title search relating to grant applications. This IRS Lien was filed in December of 2019 and not disclosed to the City or the incoming administration. The IRS lien was a result of failing to file correct and timely income tax reports for city employees.

The IRS lien, originally believed to be between $150,000 to $250,000 was settled for less than $30 thousand dollars.
