Audit Updates
The City’s CPA Firm provided a report from Rick Harbin, explaining the progress of audits that have been in progress since the new administration took office in November 2020. Mr. Harbin explained that the audit process was taking an exceptionally long time, mostly because of a lack of clear records from the previous administrations – with the last completed audit done in 2012. Mayor Johnson and her administration have made it a priority to provide audited financial statements – which have kept the city from being eligible for much needed grant funding over the years.
Chief Johnson recognizes Javeon Carpenter
Chief Johnson recommended Javeon Carpenter, a 7th grader at Robert Brown Middle School, to receive a reward for helping to stop a fight between students at his school. Mayor Johnson and council pose for picture, with Javeon to celebrate the event.
Chamber of Commerce Membership
Eutaw Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Carrie Logan, presented the Mayor and City Council with a Certificate of Membership!
Water Department Training Classes
Mayor Johnson and Council recognized members of the Eutaw Water Department, Phillip Cherry, Paul Jones, and Water Department Supervisor Marcus Burton who have completed a 30 hour training class – which will allow them to take the water operator examination!
